Ralingen
The municipality of Ralingen consists of the villages of Ralingen, Wintersdorf, Godendorf, Edingen, Olk, and Kersch.
While the latter two villages are situated on the ridge between the Sauer River and the B 51, the others are located along a particularly idyllic stretch of the Sauer, which forms the border with Luxembourg.
Historically—Ralingen, Wintersdorf, Godendorf, and Edingen were part of the Rosport/Luxembourg domain—the municipality has maintained good relations with its western neighbor, Luxembourg.
These ties are still cultivated today and are reflected in numerous cross-border projects, such as the international recreation, sports, and cultural center in Ralingen-Rosport. Ralingen is located in the German-Luxembourg Nature Park, which also encompasses large parts of Luxembourg.
The scenic beauty of the area is characterized by extensive forests, idyllic valleys, and striking rock formations with deep gorges.
