Start is at the church in Hofweiler. The small but charming village radiates a cozy atmosphere. There are great views right up to Zemmer and its districts. From the viewpoint "Kuhberg" the trail runs through the dense forest. Passing a thick oak tree, the route leads on natural paths. The highlight of the tour is the Altricher cave. The former stone quarry also served as protection in difficult times. Walk through the forest back to the village center. After a small climb, you will be rewarded with fantastic all-round views of the Eifel.
Cross the park, walk along the Syr, past a waterfall and arrive at the nature reserve `` Manternacher Fiels``.
Now walk to the ruins of a former sawmill and pass the "Mechelslay", to walk up a few steps and reach a breathtaking viewpoint. Continuing the trail by walking past the woodland named "Schlaufels", now walking downhill, arriving at the "Schlammbach" creek. Now you have nearly reached the end of this trail, all that´s left is walking back to Mertert via the "Widderberg".
The Mëllerdall Nature & Geopark is characterized by its imposing sandstone cliffs and deep gorges. However, the nature park is also characterized by traditional orchards with hundreds of fruit varieties, large forests and a high proportion of nature reserves.
