Description

Past the lowest point of the country ( called Spatz), you walk underneath the railway bridge, arriving in Germany at our colourfull tourist information.

This varied cross-border hike connects three charming villages at the mouth of the Sauer River, which has its source in the Belgian Ardennes. Starting in Wasserbillig, the trail first leads you past the "Spatz," across the border bridge, and past the German-Luxembourg Tourist Information office. After a short stretch along the main road, you cross the street and follow a paved path on the left leading up into the vineyards to the op Kloop viewpoint. Once there, a short break invites you to enjoy the magnificent view of the Moselle Valley. The route then continues downhill to Mesenich and leisurely along the Sauer river to Langsur, the largest wine-growing community in the Trier-Land administrative district. Crossing another border bridge completes the loop, and you walk back relaxed to your starting point in Wasserbillig.
