This is a demanding route but Hikers will be rewarded with numerous highlights. Start is at the cemetery in Sirzenich. The first great view is to the highest elevation "the Galgenberg". Even numerous districts of Trier can be seen from here. The narrow path leads you through a dense and fairy-tale forest area. The water treading basin offers a welcoming cooler during the summer months. Narrow paths and beautiful forest paths meander towards the Sirzenicher stream. Before reaching the lowest point of the tour, you will pass impressive rock formations. While reaching the city limits of Trier, the route leads over a wooden bridge to the Sirzenicher stream. From here the wild adventure begins. Following the course of the stream, 7 bridges facilitate the crossing. The Sirzenicher waterfall forms the end of this fantastic scenery. The place is perfect for a break and to listen to the rippling of the water. From here, we walk back through the forest to Sirzenich.
Start is at the church in Hofweiler. The small but charming village radiates a cozy atmosphere. There are great views right up to Zemmer and its districts. From the viewpoint "Kuhberg" the trail runs through the dense forest. Passing a thick oak tree, the route leads on natural paths. The highlight of the tour is the Altricher cave. The former stone quarry also served as protection in difficult times. Walk through the forest back to the village center. After a small climb, you will be rewarded with fantastic all-round views of the Eifel.
The loop trail starts at the church in Trierweiler. From there, you walk through the lively village towards Grewenich. Arriving at the top of "Michelhölzchen", the view compensates the exhausting ascend. The view crosses plains in the direction of Udelfangen and the Sauer Valley. The further route leads down into the valley, along the Trierweilerer stream. This lovingly arranged gem invites you to linger. It´s worth a visit, in case it´s open. From there, head towards the motorway. The elevation reveals another view of Trierweiler. You return back to the starting point by walking along the beautiful park.
