Peter and Paul Church

The Abbey Museum which is situated in the vaulted cellars of the abbatial palace of 1727 and displays facsimiles of the most beautiful manuscripts created by the scriptorium of Echternach. It also offers a survey of the life and work of St Willibrord. The exquisite beauty of the rooms as well as the fine quality of the exhibits and of the audiovisual shows make each visit of the Abbey Museum a memorable experience.

The dancing procession still appeals to modern man, as it enables him to include his whole body in his prayer. Jumping and dancing are an expression of joy, but they can become real penance through the effort required. It evokes the feeling of advancing towards the eternal goal in the community of the people of God.Every year on Whit Tuesday some 12-14,000 pilgrims take part in the procession, among them eight to nine thousand dancers.

The actual basilica is the fifth church to have been erected in this place. The first one was built by St Willibrord, after he had received donations by Abbess Irmina of Oeren (near Trier) and Pippin II in the years 698 and 706 (Merovingian church). Soon after his death on 7th November 739 this church was too small, as pilgrims came to his grave in great numbers to worship him as a saint.

They consist of two separate bedrooms for four guests and an open living and cooking area. (Please bring your own bedding) Pets are not allowed. Pods:These comfortable small wooden huts offer place for two people. They consist of a small sitting area and a bedroom.  (Please bring your own bedding) Pets are not allowed. Campsites:Campground right under beautiful trees, perfect to relax. Campsites for cars: All camp sites for cars have a ground area of 100 m². You can book a camping site right next to the water with a beautiful view on the Sauer. Please make your reservation in advance.

The Roman mine is one of the largest and oldest Roman mines in Germany.

The Roman ``Langmauer`` of Butzweiler is a reconstruction. The wall had an original length of 72 km, a thickness of 80 cm and a height of 2 meters. The original wall was built end of the 4C.

The Lëtzebuerg City Museum is set in the old part of the city, embedded in an ensemble of historical buildings. On four storeys, partly dug into the rock, the visitor can discover the history of the city through original exhibits and topographical models, supplemented by a multimedia system. Temporary exhibitions regularly take place in the upper storeys.
