Langsur is home to several family-owned wineries that continue a long-standing winegrowing tradition. The principal grape variety cultivated here is Elbling, one of Europe's oldest grape varieties, whose origins can be traced back to Roman times.
The municipality's close ties with neighbouring Luxembourg are reflected in a number of successful cross-border initiatives. These include the joint German-Luxembourg fire station in Born, which is shared by the fire brigades of Born (Luxembourg) and Metzdorf (Germany), as well as the jointly operated German-Luxembourg Tourist Information Centre in Wasserbilligerbrück.
Langsur is connected to neighbouring Luxembourg by several bridges, highlighting the close links between the two countries and making cross-border travel easy and convenient.
For fishing in the German and Luxembourg border waters of the Moselle, Sauer and Our you need a valid fishing permit from the age of 14.

The bike repair station is located at the Sauer bridge in Langsur. The station includes a hand pump with an adapter for all common valve types. Simply scan the QR code, and instructions and repair tips will be displayed.
The bicycle repair station on the ´Sauerradweg´ , is located near a bridge for bicycles and pedestrians connecting Metzdorf (D) and Moersdorf (LU).
Cross the wine village Mesenich, along old wine houses and former vineyards. Along a resting area and the "Kreuzweg" (Way of the Cross), past the children´s home to an overlook with views over the bend of the Sauer river. The hiking trail continues via the ancient roman way to the Olken hill („Olkener Berg“) and heads back via the culture path („Kulturweg“) past sculptures, always having a view to the surrounding villages (Luxembourg and Germany) and the Sauer river.
"Johannishof" offers single and double rooms to its guests as well as appartments for families. Some of the rooms are equipped with balconies. Parking is included. Moreover there's a restaurant for our guests which is closed on tuesdays and in the off season also on mondays.

Since the 13th century, the Fürsthof in the small town Metzdorf is family owned. Located on the lower reaches of the Sauer, a picturesque border river between Germany and Luxembourg. Here in the middle of a green idyll - also known as the Vallée de la Sûre - we cultivate our vineyards.
